Today is my 501st post. Yesterday was my 500th and Wednesday was the 499th post. You know the routine. My first post was sometime in June of last year. It's been fun, but not without consequences. The first few months I blogged I wasn't quite certain if I should tone down my tendency to curse a lot. What I used to do was write "fuck" as "f*ck". So on and so forth. I was told that was moronic so I stopped doing it.
Another consequence of blogging regularly is that you think you get to really know people. Oh I know there have been some serious friends made via the interwebz. I don't dispute that, but what I do dispute is calling everyone a friend just because we converse via a few optic fibers.
For example, Facebook...friends? My FB page says that I have about 85 friends. No I don't! I can count the number of friends I have on one fucking hand! Well, one and a half fucking hands! I prefer to say blogging buddies or in the case of the women, females I don't know but would probably like to have sex with.
That's just a couple of the problems I've found with long term blogging. There's the usual 'puter addiction and withdrawals by being away from the keyboard for more than a couple of hours. The occasional crash and frustration at trying to get the damn computer to work again.
Consequences or no consequences. I do this shit, not because of addiction, I blog because of the fun I've had "meeting" all of you guys and listening to your stories. Most of which are just flat out fucking hilarious unless you're writing about the death of a loved one in which case I can only say, "Who?"

Deb: See? Now I'm horny. Thanks anyway...
Congratulations on 501 - but I'm still not having sex with you.
You are such a caring person Don. Bwahahahahahahaha. I do love your sense of humor though.
Have a terrific day and weekend. :)
You're a funny, entertaining guy, Don and I enjoy dropping by every day. After all, you're saluting me and others like me. Keep it up (the blogging, that is...well the other thing, too, eh.) Congratulations.
David: Thanks and okay "buddy".
Sandee: Thanks Sandee-I think.
nonamedufus: Thanks John, and thanks for the funny reads every day...damn those caption contest and moooooog. That guy's good!
I tend to like those unusual numbers, Don.. like your 501... anybody can do a 500, how many care about 501??? Anybody can celebrate a 25th whatever but how about their 33rd??? Anyway, congrats on your 501! May you be blogging well past 112,374!!! And true friends??? I don't even need the thumb on one hand to cover my true friends... but blogging buddies?? Now that's different.... keep up the things coming from left field!
Tattoo Jim: Thanks a million and twenty four Jim. Hang in there, and maybe we'll both be around to get to 112,374.
Tattoo Jim: Thanks a million and twenty four Jim. Maybe we'll both be around long enough to witness my 112,374th post. I doubt it, but maybe...
What?! We're not 'friends'?! So, do you want to do me anyway???
Lin: Hehehe...of course we're friends. Blogging buddies you know? Unless of course you would like to come down here and clean house for me, and then we could be friends.
What? You mean all those people that "friended" me on Facebook AREN'T my friends? I'm crushed. I was starting to feel loved. Now I will have to go back on my medication. Tic. Tic.
Congrats on the new jeans. I hope they fit after you wash them.
write on dude!I'm getting closer to # 1300 posting.
Well I'm glad the 501 aint the jeans because then you would have the blues and I would hate to laugh at a guy who's down.
ReformingGeeks: Too bad...I'm not so sure having that many friends would really make you feel better anyway. May just lead to more confusion on birthdays.
Mike Golch: Damn dude. That's a ton of post. I personally know of only one other guy that's above 1000. I think he's approaching his third year of blogging. Keep on keepin' on.
Ann: That's okay Ann. I don't get "down". I get even.
